About Solomon

The Salomon brand was founded in 1947 in the French Alps. Frenchman Francois Salomon founded the company with his family in Annecy in eastern France. Salomon was an enthusiastic athlete himself, but at that time there was a lack of functional clothing and socks that optimally supported recreational athletes and professional athletes. In the beginning, Salomon made clothing and socks specifically for the outdoors. The high-quality products were particularly popular with hikers, trekkers, snowboarders and skiers.
